General websites

A native Kyrgyzstan woman's homepage contains photographs and information about her country and culture. She now resides in Moscow.

The University of Washington's Central Asia department has a page on religion in the region which is coauthored by a native Kyrgyzstan citizen.

Several current active Peace Corps volunteers have websites capturing parts of their experience. See Tim Forbes' slick site, kumys.com, and find out what kumys is. Charles Harness and Erika Hunsicker have taken a blogging approach to spreading the news, and you can read about their many adventures (and everyday lives) at charlesinkyrgyzstan.blogspot.com and erunda.org/erika/. Adam and Laura Braddock maintain a thoughtful and informative site at akyn-kz.com.

A former Peace Corps volunteer has a photograph gallery highlighted by photos from a 2003 exhibit titled "Children of the Celestial Mountains: Orphans of Kyrgyzstan" that was held at the Frunze Museum in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
